This visualization was another submission for the World Data Visualization Prize 2023. The creative challenge is partnered by Information is Beautiful and the World Government Summit.
Although it didn't get long or short listed, I thought I would present it on my site anyway.
What Just Happened? explores events in the world during the second decade of the third millenium (2010-2020).
Topics are grouped under the following themes: Health, Economy, Energy, Education, Climate and Life Quality.
What Happened?
I used parallel coordinates to show the highs and lows per topic for each of the groupings in this chart.
Each line represents a particular year and can be isolated per grouping by rolling over a specific line. Also, a particular year can be selected which will be highlighted for all of the groupings/themes.
